Cleaning Operative

Context:

ISS in the UK provides high quality facility services designed to maintain the fabric and appearance of buildings. ISS provides facilities management; cleaning & hygiene services; maintenance and building services; catering; security; landscaping and a wide range of other tailor-made services for customers throughout the Public and Private Sectors.

Overall purpose:

To carry out back of house cleaning and complete tasks as allocated by the Team leader, Supervisor or Line Manager to agreed standards. Shift times are 06:00 - 14:00 or 07:00 - 15:00. There is no later flexibility on these times

Key Responsibilities

• To monitor, service and maintain all areas of responsibility, as detailed on the job/route/task card, to the set standard of cleanliness and within the timeframe given, as directed by the task specific training, immediately communicating any deficiencies or damage to the Team leader/Supervisor.
• To carry out all tasks with due regard to the site requirements, contract specification and all legislation including Health and Safety, and Personal Hygiene.
• To ensure all cleaning tasks are carried out as required and as per the training provided to them.
• To ensure correct materials, equipment and methods are used at all times and equipment is kept clean and in good working order. Report faulty machinery / equipment immediately.
• To ensure company provided uniform is kept clean and tidy and is worn at all times while at work. Always wear identification badge.
• To maintain professional conduct at all times and to manage own time and attendance
• To use every effort to develop and maintain effective working relationships with our customer and ISS colleagues.
• To attend training as required by the Company.
• Report all accidents and dangerous occurrences to your Supervisor/Line Manager.
• To assist the Team Leader/Supervisor and colleagues with any other tasks responsibilities once duties are completed.
• To continue to develop one’s own skills and knowledge within the position.
• Any other duties as may be reasonably requested within the grade of the post.

Qualifications & Experiences:

· Ability to read English at a basic level, and a good level of spoken English

Skills:

· Ability to work as part of a team effectively with customers, employees and teams at all levels

· Have the ability to work on own initiative, adhering to site rules

· Be able to respond to many requests and at times work under pressure to ensure customers’ requirements are met

· Be able to communicate with all levels of staff in a polite and efficient manner

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 15 per week
