Climate Change is the biggest risk we face. We are planning for future flood scenarios including a 4oC rise in global temperature and are working with government, local councils, businesses, civil society groups and communities to make our environment a better place for people and wildlife.
Operations teams protect people and the environment by maintaining and operating our flood and coastal risk management assets and responding to incidents.
This hands-on hybrid role involves:
- Day to day running of the Stores, ordering and control of stock, ensuring compliance of Waste Regulations and management of activities within a Principle Depot
- Ensuring Depot is managed through ongoing communication with Facilities to realise improvements required.
- Support the WIP TL in all aspects of the team organisation and planning training activities
- Maintaining high standards of organisation in the yard and store ( Plant Equipment materials and PPE)
- Ensuring Environmental compliance through ongoing inspection and audits (SEMA)
- Driving of Class 1 & 2 HGV vehicles, including response to flood and environmental incidents inside normal working hours, and by participation on routine Stand By rota/Call out for out of hours. Typical work examples – provision of deploying sandbags, delivery and erection of temporary barriers, delivery and assembly of mobile pumps.
