Role: Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer
Salary: £Competitive - plus overtime & benefits
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6am till 2pm – flexible and negotiable
Location: Commutable from Reading, Basingstoke, Andover, Newbury, Thatcham, Swindon and surrounding areas
We are currently recruiting a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to work within this large factory and manufacturing environment. It is a rare and specialist role that offers a lot of responsibility, as you will oversee and be the expert for their largest equipment on-site. It is varied and will include the “hands on” day to day maintenance, both planned and reactive, as well as organising and coordinating all projects, required materials and external contractors.
The role is available due to the present incumbent retiring after 50 years! Needless to say the company has a low staff turnover! A lot of Engineers having worked here for 10+ / 20+ years! There will be a decent hand-over period too, to ensure the transition runs as smoothly as possible and the necessary training is provided.

Requirements
- Background and experience in maintenance in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship and hold electrical or mechanical qualifications.
- Have ANY of the following experience; conveyors, packaging, print, bearings, belts, 3 phase, ac/dc motors, sensors, relays, boilers, compressors, pneumatics, hydraulics, belts, bearings etc. – any experience of these will be considered
- Mechanical Bias would be preferred.
- Machining experience, using manual lathes and mills to make up parts – this is rare to find and therefore it’s deemed as “desirable”.
- Career motivated, with the desire and hunger for a role with responsibility.
- Friendly and adaptable working attitude
- Proactive work attitude and keen to get your hands dirty
