Job Description

NetPMD are looking to hire senior designers to join their team based in Oswestry, Shropshire.

Requirements

  • UK based.
  • You must have the right to live and work in the UK, with a valid Visa/Permit if required.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, an independent/self-starter, proactive and hard working with analytical and critical thinking
  • Strong sense of values, ethics and confidentiality, for dealing with sensitive information
  • Hands on experience with Geographical Information Systems (GIS), e.g., QGIS or ArcGIS and network planning tools
  • Ability to train other designers on a particular solution or scope of work

Experience

  • A minimum of 7 yearsโ€™ experience with GIS systems, FTTP planning and design
  • PIA experience
  • Fibre Optic and FTTP design experience within the telecommunications industry.
  • Strong experience in designing complex network solutions and working with fibre planners.
  • In-depth understanding of coding languages (Java, JavaScript).
  • Ability and experience in identifying and executing network solutions to improve business case outcomes.
  • Experience of identifying and mitigating operational risks and constraints.
  • Able to identify, analyse and specify design and development requirements, products, processes, systems and services sourced internally and tendered from third party suppliers.
  • Experience in building design processes either from scratch or bringing in additional efficiencies to an already existing design process.

What youโ€™ll be doing

  • Responsible for identifying and designing solutions that will improve the design performance and outputs.
  • Collaborate with our CTO, commercial lead and account managers to create architecture and design process in alignment with a business's needs
  • Continually research the current and emerging technologies and propose changes where needed.
  • Produce documentation to aid in the understanding of existing architecture solutions.
  • Assess the business impact on any technical or operational changes made by the customer.
  • Translate complex business requirements into robust and strategically aligned solutions that once agreed with our customers, can be taught to our design team.
  • Building and integrating information systems to meet the companyโ€™s needs.
  • Resolving technical problems as they arise.
  • Informing various stakeholders about any problems with the current technical solutions being implemented.
