About the service user
B is a happy 18 year old young man with a great sense of humour. B has a learning disability, he is non verbal and uses a communication aid.B loves to be outside, walks in the park and gardening he also enjoys swimming and going to the cinema especially if the movie involves dinosaurs. B is also happy being at home baking or doing crafts.
Hours and rate of Pay
Up to 15 hours per week including some weekend/evenings.£10.50 per hourEnhanced DBS clearance is essential
What you would be doing
Supporting B to have a bath and engaging B in activities he enjoys doing.B does have some challenging behaviour, you will need to learn the triggers and how to manage his behaviour.
The person I would like
You will have experience of supporting others with a learning disability and an awareness of the challenging behaviour learning disabilities can bring.You will be patient and calm, someone who is friendly and cheerful you will also need to be flexible and punctual.Someone who is happy and willing to be interactive you will be encouraging in order to improve and develop skills.
