Job Description

Start Date: September 2026

Salary: £30,000-50,000 per year

Do you have a genuine love of mathematics? Are you looking for an opportunity to teach in one of the top performing mathematics departments in the country? Then this might be the opportunity for you!

We are looking to appoint a dynamic Teacher of Mathematics who will join the College family, and share their passion for mathematics with some of the most talented mathematics students from around the world.

All students at the College study A-Level mathematics and over three-quarters also study A-level Further Mathematics. As part of our PreA course all students study the FSMQ Additional Mathematics course. Mathematics is at the heart of the curriculum, and its central position allows us to approach all our subjects in a more mathematical way.

Stretching our students beyond the A-level curriculum is a core part of our mission. All students are entered for various national and international competitions throughout the year, and calculations can be found scribbled around the building as students pose and solve problems on the problem boards in the corridors. We have a strong history of Gold Awards in the UKMT Senior Challenge with a large proportion of students qualifying for BMO1 and BMO2. In 2026 we were ranked in the top 20 departments in the world in the Euclid Mathematics competition.

Many of our students will be applying for degrees in mathematics and mathematically related subjects, so preparing students for entrance assessments such as MAT/TMUA and STEP alongside preparing them for interviews is a core part of the department’s duties.
